Progressive rock group Muellercraft has just released a new double concept album Dystopia 31 on November 15, 2024, mastered by Gary Tanin at Daystorm Music. Muellercraft is a “Neo-prog brainstorm,” a “Techno/SynthPop Frankenstein,” and a “Rustbelt New Wave resurrection”—all rolled into one. It is led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jay Nelson Mueller, who plays all instrumentation on the album and is joined by Julia Mueller and Emmaline Mueller on backing vocals.
This twenty-eight-track double album reminds me a lot of a rock opera in some aspects starting with the leading track Fast Forward then moving into great cuts as Megacity, Our Great Leader, When Did It Happen, Believe, Comes The Dawn, Help Me, The Best We Could, Power To Serve, Sabotage, The Price Of Victory and so much more. I was quite impressed with this recording from start to finish, with a superb performance, exciting instrumentation and vocals, creative songwriting, and a spectacular job of recording and production. This is an album I can listen to over and over again and I highly recommend everyone take a listen to, and I think you will agree with me. I hope this album will be available on vinyl one day so I can get the full sound that I like on my turntable.
